Nunja, ein paar Ungenauigkeiten sind mir schon aufgefallen:

- 1990 gabs schon Flachbildschirme - und zwar Plasmabildschirme in tragbaren Computern.
- auch heute kann man noch Nadeldrucker neu kaufen (für Spezialanwendungen in rauher Umgebung)!
- Co-Prozessor: GPU-Computing mit GPU-Zusatzkarten, die extra für Rechenintensive Anwendungen entwickelt wurden und keine Grafikkarten sind, ist nix anderes!

Intel Broadwell-EP - Nur das Xeon-E5-Flaggschiff bekommt 22 Kerne

Ein Installation and Service Guide für den Lenovo NeXtScale nx360 M5 Type 5465 listet insgesamt 20 verschiedene Xeon E5-2600 v4, Codename Broadwell-EP, die im Frühjahr auf den Markt kommen sollen. Sie bieten fast überall mehr Kerne bei weniger Takt als der Vorgänger, allerdings wird nur das Flaggschiff volle 22 Kerne erhalten.

Wie erwartet bekommen fast alle neuen Xeon-Prozessoren zwei bis vier zusätzliche Prozessorkerne. Damit einher gehen auch 5 oder 10 MByte zusätzlicher L3-Cache, da sich das Verhältnis seit Sandy Bridge von „1 Kern = 2,5 MByte L3-Cache“ nicht geändert hat. Bei der TDP bleibt es in den meisten Bereichen in den gleichen Klassen wie zuvor, trotz der neuen 14-nm-Fertigung müssen die Taktraten dafür je nach Modell mehr oder weniger deutlich gesenkt werden.

WhatsApp unterstützt ab Ende 2016 nur noch neuere Versionen von Android sowie iOS und Windows Phone. Nicht mehr unterstützt werden unter anderem BlackBerry, Nokia S40 und Symbian S60, wie der zu Facebook gehörende Instant Messenger mitteilt.

Ende 2016 beendet WhatsApp den Support für die Betriebssystemversionen Android 2.1, Android 2.2, BlackBerry, BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60 und Windows Phone 7.1. Da WhatsApp kein Datum nennt, ist unklar, ob der Support genau zum Jahreswechsel eingestellt wird.

Microsoft Extends Intel Skylake Support On Windows 7 And 8.1

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced that it will terminate support for Intel Skylake processors in Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. After July 17, 2017, users running mentioned operating system and Skylake CPUs won't get any compatibility, reliability, and security fixes.

The only solution was to switch to Windows 10, which has full support for Skylake processors. Due to big disapproval from users, Microsoft decided to change some things regarding the support. The support for compatibility, reliability, and security fixes has been extended by a year to July 17, 2018.

Microsoft also promised to address all critical issues for Skylake systems until the end of mainstream support for the operating system, which is January 2020 for Windows 7, and January 2023 for Windows 8.1.

Shader Model 6.0 erscheint sieben Jahre nach 5.0

Microsoft hat während der Game Developers Conference über das kommende Shader Model 6.0 gesprochen, das im Nachgang von DirectX 12 veröffentlicht werden wird. Sollte die neue Version dieses Jahr noch fertiggestellt werden, liegen zwischen dem Shader Model 6.0 und 5.0 sieben Jahre.

Prozessoren - Intel trägt das Tick-Tock-Modell zu Grabe

Inoffiziell ist das Tick-Tock-Modell schon seit dem „Haswell Refresh“ begraben. Jetzt beerdigt Intel das Konzept auch ganz offiziell. Spätestens mit der nächsten Prozessor-Neuvorstellung, Codename Kaby Lake, hinter der sich erneut nur ein optimiertes Vorgänger-Modell verbirgt, ist das bisherige Modell endgültig unhaltbar.

In der alljährlichen 10-K-Mitteilung (PDF) erklärt Intel auf Seite 17 des 151 Seiten fassenden Dokuments nicht nur die Ausgaben für Forschung und Entwicklung in den letzten Jahren, sondern umreißt auch die Pläne für die Zukunft. Demnach ist das bisherige Tick-Tock-Modell bei Intel nicht mehr haltbar, in dem im jährlichen Wechsel einmal die Fertigungstechnik verkleinert wurde (Tick), während im darauffolgenden Jahr eine neue Architektur eingeführt wurde (Tock), die wiederum im Jahr darauf mit der nächsten Fertigungstechnik verkleinert wurde (Tick).

Sehr schöner Artikel und so passend.
Leider auch für Android aka Google und bald auch für Microsoft, weil alle diesem sogenannten "Geschäftsmodell" hinterherhecheln, da man damit Milliarden scheffeln kann/könnte.
Dazu auch mal einen interssanten Artikel zu Apple: Umsatz steigt, Verkaufszahlen des Iphones stagnieren. Vielleicht wurde deshalb das "neue" iPhone auf den Markt gebracht.

Personal Data of 50 Million Turkish Citizens Leaked Online

Personal details of nearly 50 Million Turkish citizens, including the country's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, have been compromised and posted online in a massive security breach.

​

A database, which contains 49,611,709 records, appeared on the website of an Icelandic group on Monday, offering download links to anyone interested.​

​

If confirmed, the data breach would be one of the biggest public breaches of its kind, effectively putting two-thirds of the Nation's population at risk of identity theft and fraud.​

However, The Associated Press (AP) reported on Monday that it was able to partially verify the authenticity of 8 out of 10 non-public Turkish ID numbers against the names in the data leak.​
