X220 + Mint 14 = Schlechte Laufzeit

Hallo,

Seit Heute betreibe ich Linux Mint 14 64bit auf meinem X220. Da ich schon viel Erfahrung unter Ubuntu 12.04 gesammelt hatte war der Einstieg sehr leicht, es ist im Grunde fast das gleiche wie Ubuntu.

Demzufolge war mir der Ablauf der Dinge bekannt, TLP konnte ich also ohne Probleme installieren, Thinkfan ist gar nicht nötig da die CPU immer sehr kühl bleibt. (45°C beim surfen)

Auch das Backlight Skript funkt zu 50%.

Aber: Die Akkulaufzeit mit 45Wh ist nur 2-3h. Das kann doch nicht sein. Unter Windows 8 komme ich auf knapp 6h WLAN, selbst unter Ubuntu + TLP kam ich immer auf 5h+, die Idle Laufzeiten waren auch sehr krass. (10h+)

Nur unter Mint scheint was nicht zu stimmen. TLP funktioniert, die CPU ist auf 800MHz begrenzt (wie unter Win und Ubuntu) und ich surfe nur ein bisschen hier im Forum, doch die Akkuanzeige liefert mir bei vollem Akku Werte von 2-3h und jetzt nachdem ich das auch getestet habe kann ich bestätigen: 2-3h stimmen.

Als Idle Zeit zeigt mir Mint 5h an.

Weiß einer was da los ist?

Bist Du sicher dass der auch wirkt? Zu sehen ist davon nichts:
Bei gesetzten 800MHz starten Programme langsamer.
Außerdem fehlen deinem System 5 Generationen Kernelupdates, aktuell ist 3.5.0-23, Du hast 3.5.0-17. Die restlichen Updates fehlen dann wahrscheinlich auch. Also flugs:

Dann kannst Du ja jetzt mal schauen ob sich im Verbrauch etwas geändert hat.

Die CPU wird lt. Ausgabe derzeit vom standardmäßigen Governor ondemand verwaltet:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor = ondemand
Um durch TLP am Akku die max. Frequenz zu limitieren stellst Du in der Konfiguration folgendes ein:

OK, hab den maximalen Takt auf 1GHz gesetzt, das reicht unter Win 8 auch für 6h WLAN.

Toll, bei minimaler Helligkeit und idle schaff ich auch 6W, hat mir schon der Einzeiler ausgespuckt. Wer macht sowas bitteschön? Ich jedenfalls nicht, ich benutze meinen Laptop sogar.

Beim ersten habe ich im Forum gesurft, das zweite erklärt sich von selbst.

Bei leichter Last ist Mint wohl einfach nicht so sparsam.
 
Wow, für einfach nur im Forum surfen sieht das aber wirklich hoch aus.
 
Ich hab ja nicht umsonst nur 3h Akkulaufzeit.:D
 
Für mich kommt nur Firefox in Frage, ich kann aber trotzdem mal einen anderen testen. Welcher ist denn empfehlenswert?

hast du besondere plugins oder add-ons bei ff am start?
 
Nur das übliche, also Adblock und alles was bei Mint schon dabei war. (Flash player, VLC Plugin etc.) So Zeug eben.

Erstmal schlafen dann kann ich in ruhe mal Opera testen.

ca. 12 Watt habe ich mit dem x200 auch immer -- wobei der Verbrauch schon nach oben geht sobald ich nur am Trackpoint anfasse und die Maus minimal bewege :-(
 
@Casiofx82: hier geht es um's X220 nicht um's X200. Aber um deine Frage kurz zu beantworten (und das OT abzuschließen): im Idle mit WLAN zieht mein X200 ~6,5W bei minimaler und ~11W bei brauchbarer (= voller) Helligkeit. Im Surfbetrieb sind Werte um 12W und höher völlig normal.

@Aurora: nun installier schon endlich gnuplot, dann bekommst Du von thinkwatt zur Belohnung eine hübsche Grafik mit Durchschnittswert.

MnE: Screenshots von Terminals sind ätzend.
