X2xx/s (X200/s-260) x220 BIOS update sinnvoll?

nAbend,
für meine Maschine gibts lt Lenovo ein Update des BIOS auf 1.4x, mein Teil hat aktuell 1.29 drauf.
lohnt das überhaupt? kann ich das direkt über die Lenovo suite machen oder muss ich einen bootable stick oder so was erstellen?
sind Gefahren beim Update zu erwarten?

Sicherheitshalber würde ich per bootbarem Medium machen und eher weniger über SystemUpdate.

lid. To disable the beep sound, do either of the following settings.
a) Open ThinkVantage Power Manager, select Switch to: [Advanced],
select the Global Power Settings tab and uncheck the Beep when
power state changes option.
b) 1. Turn off and on the computer.
2. While the "To interrupt normal startup, press the blue
ThinkVantage button" message is displayed, press the F1 key.
3. Select Config, then select Beep and Alarm.
4. Set the Power Control Beep option to Disabled.
5. Press the F10 key to save configuration and exit.
6. Select Yes and restart the computer.
