Kann ich bestätigen am T410.
Ich auch: heute ist mein KVR16S11S8/4 Modul angekommen, ich brauchte sowieso mal ein neues 4GB Modul (fuer T/L430).
Im X201s: Linux Kernel Panic, Memtest86+ startet kurz an mit Grafikfehlern und stuerzt dann ab.
EDIT: BIOS-Version beim X201s: 1.05 (= uralt, muss ich mal updaten).
EDIT2: Update auf BIOS 1.40 (EC 1.14) hat nicht geholfen, das Modul funktioniert immer noch nicht im X201s.
Was man an einem RAM noch alles verändern bzw an die jeweilig aktuelle CPU-Generation anpassen kann, weiß ich nicht. So tief steckt eh kaum jemand in der Materie.
Jedenfalls wurde bei Kingston eben zB die Rank-Konfiguration ohne offensichtlichen Hinweis für den Käufer geändert.
Die Anzahl der Ranks sind IMHO nicht das Problem, da das X201(s) single Rank 4GB Module vertraegt. Versuchen wir es mal: Hier ist der Dump des SPD des KVR16S11S8/4:

Faellt jemandem schon jetzt was auf, warum so ein Modul in einem X201/T410/T510 nicht laufen kann? Ich schiele mal zu diablo666 & Co., zu den FSB-Uebertaktern vom X61/X301, die dann oft auch das SPD patchen mussten.
Ich kenne mich mit diesen Parametern zu wenig aus, muss da erst mal die Dokumentation lesen.
Hat jemand ein single rank Modul, das in einem Thinkpad dieser Generation (Core-i, 1.Gen) funktioniert und kann mal das SPD zum Vergleich dumpen (bzw. mir das Binary schicken)?

EDIT3: Ich habe das Modul heute mal zum Test in ein T400 eingesetzt. Im oberen Slot piepst das BIOS 1-3-3-1, im unteren Slot zeigt das T400 gar keine Reaktion. Bei beiden Versuchen kam kein Thinkpad-Begruessungsbildschirm. Also wie erwartet bei einem 1R Modul mit 4GB im T400 und anders als beim X201s, das ja zum BIOS kommt und noch versucht, ein OS zu starten.
