Hello, I am writing this text using Google Translate. I don't speak German. If the rules allow it, you can answer me in English. Otherwise I translate from German.

I'm building the classic Franken pad mod, a T61 14" 4:3 in a T60 15" 4:3 case, and would like to use an HV150UX2-100 screen.
I have the screen, but I can't find the modified LCD cable or a modified inverter to connect the screen to the board.
If you have any advice on where I could purchase these items, please let me know.
Thank you for your time.

There are no modified display cables or inverters available for purchase; you have to make them yourself. ;)
  • To make the HV150UX2-100-LED-modified display cable, desolder the 30 contacts on the upper display connector, rotate the connector 180 degrees, and then resolder the 30 contacts. The 30-pin connector on the display is therefore a mirror image of the original display cable.
  • For the LED inverter, solder four wires to a standard inverter as follows:

The 14-pin backlight connector located at the top right of the display's rear panel is wired as follows:

1: VSS - Ground (bottom right arrow)
2-6: HVDD - Power supply (top right arrow)
8: BL on/off - Activate backlight (bottom left arrow)
9: Vdim - PWM dimmer control (top left arrow)

You don't need a mod cable, just the display cable that comes with the 15" display

Thank you for your answer, but I have zero experience soldering thats why I was hoping to be able to purchase a modified cable and inverter.

  • The HV150UX1-10x is the older, classic UXGA CCFL display; it doesn't require a modified cable or a soldered inverter.
  • The HV150UX2-10x is an UXGA LED display; it does require a modified cable and a soldered inverter.
