Nachdem im Forum öfters nachgefragt wird, wie man Linux die Feinheiten des Stromsparens beibringt, habe ich mich vor einiger Zeit entschlossen, meine Skriptsammlung in eine allgemein benutzbare Form zu bringen. Das Ergebnis möchte ich Euch an dieser Stelle vorstellen.

Dokumentation ist auf der offiziellen Website https://linrunner.de/tlp/ zu finden (die Infos in unserem Wiki werden von mir nicht mehr gepflegt und sind veraltet).

Fragen und Probleme einfach hier im Thread posten.

Hallo.

Ich verwende einen Thinkpad T510 mit aktuellem debian testing und habe folgendes Problem:
Beim Entladen bleibt der Ladestand ewig bei 2-3%, bevor der Akku tatsächlich leer ist. Umgekehrt bleibt beim Laden der Ladestand eine ganze Weile bei 0 in /sys/devices/platform/smapi/BAT0/remaining_capacity, obwohl in power_now eine Ladeleistung von ca. 40700 mW angezeigt wird.
"tlp recalibrate BAT0" hat in dieser Hinsicht keine Verbesserung gebracht und auch selber angezeigt, dass der Akku trotz 0 ladestand noch lange weiter entladen werden kann.

Wie kann ich die Ladestandanzeige tatsächlich neu kalibrieren?

Noch ein kurzes Feedback:
Ich habe inzwischen doch eine Lösung für obiges Problem gefunden. Und zwar mehrmaliges vollständiges entladen und wieder aufladen.
Der Wert in smapi/BAT0/last_full_capacity ist mit jeder Ladung etwas angestiegen und ist jetzt wieder normal :) D.h. die Kapazitätsangabe stimmt wieder mit der tatsächlichen Batteriekapazität überein.
 
Habe die letzten Tage zwei meiner TPs (T420 & X220) mit Debian Stretch installiert. Auf beiden TPs und auf meinem T520 ist trotz in der sources.list eingetragenen Backport aber nur tlp 0.9 installiert statt der 1.1. Gibt es dafür einen Grund? Laut Wiki sollten die "Pakete der neuesten TLP-Version" per Backport verfügbar sein.

Außerdem ist mir aufgefallen, dass nur bei einem älteren Original-Akku der Cycle Count bei tlp-stat -b angezeigt wird. Bei zwei neueren Akkus (1x 44++ original, 1x 70++ OEM) steht da leider nur "not supported". Der Lenovo Energy Manager zeigt mir für beide Akkus die Ladezyklen korrekt an. Könnte das an der tlp v0.9 liegen oder gibt es grundsätzlich mit bestimmten Akkus Probleme?

Der tlp-stat Bericht ist vom T520, bei dem der Cycle Count (mit dem älteren Original Akku) funktioniert. Die Einstellungen sind aber bei allen TPs gleich, nur der RESTORE_DEVICE_STATE_ON_STARTUP und die Ladeunterschwellen sind angepasst, ansonsten alles auf default.

Das mit der falschen Kapazität könnte ein ähnliches Problem wie bei den Sandy Bridge TPs sein. Wenn man die obere Ladeschwelle nicht auf 100% setzt, entfernt sich die angebliche Kapazität mit jedem weiteren Ladevorgang immer weiter vom tatsächlichen Wert. Das soll daran liegen, dass die neueren Akkus eine eigene Ladeintelligenz haben und die oberen Ladeschwellen damit nicht mehr korrekt funktionieren. Darum soll man nur noch die untere Schwelle setzen und dem Akku den Rest überlassen. Nach einigen Ladevorgängen stimmt dann auch wieder die angezeigte Kapazität. Das Problem tritt auch bei Verwendung des Lenovo Energy Managers auf, liegt also nicht an tlp, sondern an der Ladeelektronik des Akkus.

Hast du denn auch explizit das Paket aus den Backports installiert wie hier beschrieben?
 
Ok, Fehler gefunden. Ich hatte beim Installieren die Parameter "-t stretch-backports" vergessen, weil in der Wiki bei Debian Stretch zuerst der normale Befehl steht. Dass man die Backports beim Installieren extra angeben muss, wusste ich nicht. Mein T520 läuft jetzt mit v1.1. Danke für den Hinweis!
Bleibt noch die Frage mit dem Cycle Count bei den Akkus, oder gab es da einen Fix seit v0.9? An den beiden anderen TPs, wo das Problem auftritt, installiere ich erst morgen v1.1. Daher weiß ich nicht, ob es mit v1.1 wieder funktioniert.

@Harry: ob der Cycle Count funktioniert, hängt nicht von der TLP-Version ab, sondern von Hardware bzw. BIOS, evtl. auch Kernel.
 
Danke für den Hinweis. Ich werde mal den T420 OEM Akku im T520 versuchen, wenn da der Cycle Count funktioniert, liegt es am Gerät und nicht am Akku. Trotzdem zeigt der Lenovo Power Manager bei allen Geräten die Ladezyklen an. Also müssen die Daten ja "irgendwo" vorhanden sein.
 
@Harry_W: tlp-stat liest das aus, was der Kernel anliefert. Ich habe hier keine Einflussmöglichkeit. Bei der 20er-Generation muss selbstverständlich tp-smapi installiert und aktiv sein.
 
So ... an den beiden anderen TPs auch TLP 1.1 aus den backports installiert. Jetzt funktioniert auch der Cycle Count wieder bei allen Geräten und Akkus. Mit TLP 0.9 aus den normalen Paketquellen wurde nur beim T520 der Cycle Count angezeigt. tp-smapi-dkms und acpi-call-dkms waren auf allen Geräten installiert. Habe jetzt nur tlp und tlp-rdw aktualisiert und seitdem funktioniert es wieder.

Ich glaube seit dem Update zu 18.04 LTS wird mein Bluetooth beim Start nicht mehr deaktiviert.
Mit dem Release-Upgrade kam auch eine neue Version von TLP. Ich hab die neue Config laden lassen und wieder angepasst. Wieso klappt das jetzt nicht mehr?

Ausprobiert nicht. Ist aber keine Alternative, da dann Wlan an ist, wenn ich mobil (wlan) war und der folgende Start in der Dock (lan) ist. So war es zumindest vor einigen Jahren mal.
 
OK, anderer Anwendungsfall. Mir genügt es, wenn mein TP wieder so hochfährt, wie es runtergefahren wurde.
 
Ich verwende Blueman mit Ubuntu Mate. Der Haken für auto-on war tatsächlich gesetzt. Interessanterweise hat sich BT im Akkubetrieb deaktiviert, mit Netzteil nicht. Wie auch immer... sollte damit erledigt sein.

Ich möchte gern meinen Akku rekalibrieren, aber tlp 1.1 gibt eine Fehlermeldung aus und verweigert mir die Mitarbeit .
Entgegen der Meldung über das Fehlen von "acpi-call kernel module" ist das Paket "acpi-call-dkms" aber installiert.

Nachfolgende Meldung entstand im Netzladezustand. Sie ist mit der im Akkubetrieb identisch.
