Linux auf T440s in einer VM

Hallo Gemeinde,

ich hab vor auf meinem T440s in der VM ein Linux zu installieren, nur um damit zu Surfen. Muss nichts können, nur Browser und vielleicht bisschen probieren. Wollte eigentlich wieder eine M.2 SSD einbauen um da ein Linux zu installieren, mir reicht denke ich erst mal eine VM.

Leider klappt das nicht, Installation ist klar easy, funktioniert astrein, Internet ginge, alles ok, ABER:

640x480 is bissl klein, das bringt mir nichts, ich hätte gerne die native Auflösung, also FHD.

Habe schon quergelesen, gesucht, versucht, keine Chance. Versucht habe ich Mint, hier kann ich Auflösungen einstellen, aber nur 16:10 und 4:3, das passt einfach nicht. Kubuntu geht gar nicht, da kann ich nicht mal eine Auflösung einstellen.

Hat da einer ne Idee? Wäre super. Dankeschön im voraus.

Danke :) Aber gut, ich würde nicht fragen wenn ich alles wüßte.

Jetzt habe ich es ja auf einer sep. SSD installiert, nun rennt es also Nativ, würde aber ungern einen neuen Thread aufmachen.

Ich habe mit 44 Wh nur 2h Akkulaufzeit. Das ist einfach zu mager, TLP habe ich installiert, ich denke die Graka ist schuld. Lüfter bleibt im Akkubetrieb weitestgehend aus, das kann es also auch nicht sein. Powertop habe ich mal durchforstet, das sagt mir alles nichts.
 
Wenn du die ganze Zeit Nvidia am Rennen hast, ist das verständlich. Damit läuft es unter Windows auch nicht länger.
 
Mit einem 6-Zellen-Akku sollten locker 6-9 Stunden möglich sein (natürlich unter den verlinkten Rahmenbedingungen). Also, wie gesagt: Mein Auto macht komische Geräusche …

Zeig uns am besten erst einmal die Ausgabe von "sudo tlp-stat" im Batteriebetrieb, damit wir uns einen Überblick verschaffen können.

VM läuft nur unter Win10, nun läuft es Autark...

5,7 W sind doch ok. Mit beiden Akkus solltest du auf eine höhere Laufzeit kommen.
 
Ich nutze eher die Anzeige, das stimmt schon was du sagst. Man kann dem Akku auch jetzt wieder zusehen wie er runterrasselt.

Verstehe ich nicht.
