T4xx (T400-450 ohne "T440s/T450s") 25 T420s brauchen ein BIOS Update Wie?

Habe hier 25 T420 die ein BIOS Update brauchen. Irgendwer der Ahnung davon hat, wie man das übers Netzwerk effizient machen kann?

Bastle dir einen USB-Stick und mache die Runde....geht in der Regel in 4Minuten pro book.

Jede Form von "aktivem" BIOS-Update bei laufendem Betriebssystem ist gefährlicher als die Bootstick-Variante. Auch falls das irgendwie per LAN-Boot gehen sollte, halte ich eine Unterbrechung der Verbindung für ein hohes Risiko. Bei 25 Books ist das Risiko, dass es nicht überall klappt und ein paar Geräte über den Jordan gehen, sowieso gegeben. Lenovo deckt schiefgegangene BIOS-Updates zwar per Garantie ab, aber das muss man ja nicht haben.

Wenn die BIOS-Updates nicht zwingend nötig sind, würde ich generell abraten. Ansonsten ist die USB-Variante die ungefährlichste.

Für Bios-Updates und ähnliche Fälle habe ich ein USB-Floppy-Laufwerk, sicher ist sicher.....

manual update

1. print these instructions or display on another computer.
2. Firmly connect the ac adapter to the target computer.
3. Make sure your thinkpad computer has an optical drive installed.
4. Insert the bios update cd into the optical drive and turn on the computer.
5. Select read this first from the menu and carefully read the information.
6. Press the esc key to return to the menu.
7. Select update system program and follow the instructions on the screen.
8. After the information panel appears, remove the bios update cd from the optical drive then press the enter key to restart the computer.

Initializing uefi bios

note:
After initialization you may need to reapply some settings that you had changed previously.

Uefi bios initialization is suggested for some problems. To initialize the uefi bios settings:

1. Turn off the computer.
2. Turn on the computer.
3. While the "to interrupt normal startup, press the blue thinkvantage button" message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the f1 key.
4. The thinkpad setup menu will be displayed. If a password prompt appears, type the correct password.
5. Press the f9 key to load default configuration.
6. Select yes.
7. Press the f10 key to save default configuration and exit.
8. Select yes.
9. Restart the computer.
