tpm treiber lässt sich nicht installieren ??

hallo,

ich habe mein t60 letzens neu aufgesetzt und alle treiber
installiert. nur der treiber für das trusted platform module (TPM) hat
sich nicht installieren lassen.
ich verstehe das nicht, ich habe den treiber entpackt und dann auf "INSTALLE" geklickt, aber es ist nichs passiert.

was ist eigentlich der TPM? brauch ich den um versteckte partitionen zu verschlüsseln oder was?

Nur eine Idee, aber schau doch mal ob TPM im BIOS aktiviert ist.

Update Install

1. Start Windows XP.
2. Click Start then click Control Panel.
3. Click Performance and Maintenance and then click the System icon.
4. Click the Hardware tab then click Device Manager.
5. Expand the System devices category.
6. Right-click Atmel Tpm Pnp Device or Atmel TPM in System devices and click Properties.
7. Click the Driver tab then click Update Driver.
8. Select No, not this time and click Next.
9. Select Install from a list or specific location and click Next.
10. Select Search for the best driver in these locations and Include this location in the search only.
11. Click Browse, locate the driver, and OK. The default location for this driver is: C:\Drivers\Win\TPM.
12. Click Next then click Finish.

Clean Install (Found New Hardware Wizard)
If it is the first time booting to Windows XP, Windows XP detects the "TPM Device" automatically.

1. Start Windows XP. The Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box will appear.
2. Select No, not this time then click Next.
3. Select Install from a list or specific location then click Next.
4. Select Search for the best driver in these locations and Include this location in the search only.
5. Click Browse, locate the driver, and click OK. The default location for this driver is: C:\Drivers\Win\TPM.
6. Click Next then click Finish.

Clean Install (Unknown device in Other or System devices)
Windows XP detected the "TPM Device", but was not able to find the suitable device driver. In this case, you will see "Unknown device" in "Other devices" or "System devices" category in the Device Manager.

1. Start Windows XP.

heißt das ding im bios "security chip" oder is das was anderes?

Der Security-Chip kann ausgeschaltet bleiben. Der Treiber sollte sich nach den oben von mir geposteten Anleitungen installieren lassen.

aber deine anleitung setzt doch voraus, dass der chip bei mir im geräte manager angezeigt wird. und das tut er nicht

Das oder ein unbekanntes Gerät.
Was nicht angezeigt wird, muss auch nicht installiert werden

ja okay das ist wohl wahr^^ aber is denn der "security chip" im bios dieses TPM? den der ist bei mir deaktiviert.

brauche ich das TPM überhaupt? ich wollte die client security solution benutzen um neue virtuelle festplatten anzulegen und die dann zu verschlüsseln.

Dann musst Du den Security-Chip aktivieren. Ich möchte Dich aber darauf aufmerksam machen, dass die Client Security Solution eine starke Geschwindigkeitsbremse ist.
Zum Anlegen virtueller Platten und Verschlüsseln gibt es bessere Tools, wie z.B. TrueCrypt.
