Linux Thunderbolt 3 Dock (40AC): Funktioniert nur bei jedem 2. Suspend

Hallo zusammen,

ich hab mir zu meinem T480 vor ein paar Monaten ne gebrauchte 40AC Dock (Thunderbolt 3 Dock, aber die "alte") günstig geschossen. Leider scheint mir das Thunderbolt-Zeugs etwas unausgereift, nun ich habe folgendes Problem:

Nach einem Suspend und wiederaufwachen funktionieren sämtliche USB-Geräte nicht, die Bildschirme gehen an. Ich muss dann das Notebook nochmal suspenden (Power-Taste drücken), ein paar Sekunden warten, aufwecken; dann gehts.
Das ist zuverlässig so reproduzierbar, sprich es passiert jedes mal nach nem Suspend und geht dann immer mit nochmal-suspenden wieder.

Firmware vom Dock hab ich gerade unter Windows geupdated, aber das hat nichts geändert (Datenpunkt: mit fwupdmgr konnte ich unter Linux das Dock nicht updaten - habs dann mit nem per Rufus erstellen Windows-Live-Stick gemacht).
Archlinux, 6.3.3-arch1-1, ich hab auch tlp laufen, sehe da aber nichts, was mit dem Dock interagieren könnte...
Das Problem besteht seit ich das Dock hab, also keine Veränderung mit Kernel Updates etc. die letzten Monate.

Irgendwelche Tipps? Das ist leider ganz schön nervig & ich überlege, mir eine "normale" USB-C dock zu holen & einen meiner beiden Monitore direkt am Notebook anzuschließen - ich hätte gern 2x WQHD 60 Hz extern und der T480 kann ja noch kein DP1.4...

Hi,
ich habe mir auch mal so eine zugelegt und die tut's bei mir ohne Probleme (X13 Gen2i mit Debian 12). Laut fwupd ist die Firmware auch aktuell, hab aber nicht nachgesehen, welche explizit installiert ist.
 
Ich habe jetzt bei dem Deal von der Dynabook TB4 Dock zugeschlagen: Hier sind meine Probleme sofort in Luft aufgelöst. Einzig etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig: Der Power-Button schaltet die Dock selbst ein und aus, dachte am Anfang, hier ist was kaputt :D
 
@Matze88 hast du immer noch das gleiche OS wie bei der Thunderbolt im Betrieb? Wenn ja, wie hoch ist dein Swap Space (Partition/File) im VGL zu deinem verbauten RAM?
 
Ja, habe ich, also die TB3 dock durch die Dynabook getauscht im laufenden Betrieb -> Probleme weg :)

Ok ich sehe, du hast den Swap = RAM + ~ 2GiB drauf bei mir schauts auch ähnlich aus, hab einfach 2 GiB draufgepackt.. ich nutze Swap so gut wie nie im laufenden Betrieb, hab es nur aus Gründen des Standbys partioniert, obwohl es bei mir auch die Swapfile getan hätte...Ergo folgere ich daraus, dass nicht der mangelnde Swap Space zu suspend problemen geführt hat, aber ich sehe das hast du selbst schon deduziert.. ;)
