T5xx (T500-550 ohne "p") T560 clean W7

Hallo Leute,

vor kurzem habe ich mir ein Thinkpad T560 zugelegt. Dieses war "leer" also ohne Vorinstallation. Mein Ziel war es Windows 7 zu installieren und lauffähig zu bringen.
Da der Laptop kein optisches Laufwerk und keine USB 2.0 Buchsen besitzt stellte sich das als etwas knifflig heraus. Letzten Endes habe ich es jedoch geschafft - W7 läuft ohne Probleme.
Nachdem ich mir nun einen kleinen englischen Guide geschrieben habe , den ich ebenso auf TomsHardware veröffentlicht habe, möchte ich ihn hier ebenfalls teilen. Ich hoffe damit Leuten zu helfen die auf ähnliche Probleme stoßen.

Downloaded official legacy image using a special script:

Created a USB W7 Image using the official Microsoft tool

Patched the W7 Image so that it contains USB3.0 Driver

--> NOW W7 should install
ended up with a Clean W7 installation , but all Network/USB Connections were
not functioning (Lenovo Specific Driver needed). Optical Drive wasnt available too
since the Laptop simply doesnt have one.


Downloaded those Drivers to a USB Drive

Booted from W7 Installation Stick again to get to the Installation Menu.
From the Repair Agent I started the Command Line and manually copied those Lenovo
Drivers (from the Stick) to the SSD of the Notebook.

From there on I had full access to the Notebook and a running , patched W7.

Und ein aktuelles Windows zu nehmen, womit man diese ganzen umständlichen Umwege nicht gehen muss, war für dich so gar keine Alternative?

Das wäre angesichts dessen, dass Windows 7 Speed Shift nicht unterstützt und nach dem 17. Juli 2018 auf dem T560 nur noch kritische Sicherheitsupdates erhält, auch meine Empfehlung, wenn man bei Windows bleiben will.

Es musste W7 sein, der Umstieg auf 10 erfolgt etwas später!
