GNOME 2: indicator-session / Sitzungsanzeige anpassbar?

Hallo zusammen,

normalerweise hat das indicator-session Menü folgende Optionen:
- Bildschirm sperren
- Gastsitzung
- Benutzer wechseln
- Abmelden
- Bereitschaft
- Ruhezustand
- Neu starten
- Ausschalten

Das ist eine ganze Menge. Ich persönlich finde es nur unübersichtlich, meine Eltern z.B. verklicken sich da oft. Z.B. weil der Unterschied zwischen Bereitschaft und Ruhezustand nicht klar ist.
Daher meine Idee: kann ich nicht das Menü so anpassen, dass nur noch vorhanden sind:
- Abmelden
- Bereitschaft
- Ausschalten

Ich habe leider unter gconf-editor keine passenden Einträge gefunden. Gibt es welche? Oder an welchen Schrauben muss ich drehen?
Oder wird der Eingriff so kompliziert, dass er unverhältnismäßig ist?

Puh, also "einfach mal eben" ist hier scheinbar nicht. Unity ist für mich (noch) nicht das Wahre, ich wollte noch so lange wie möglich bei GNOME 2 bleiben oder bis ich mit Unity/Gnome Shell gut arbeiten kann.

Ich habe ein wenig Sorge, dass ich die Stabilität evtl. des ganzen Systems gefährde wenn ich Informatik-Noob am Code rumbastle und aufs System loslasse...
