Gelöst: W520 - Displayhelligkeit während des Startvorganges auf Minimum

Ich darf seit gestern ein W520 mein Eigen nennen
W520 i7-2820QM(2.3GHz)
8GB RAM
160GB SSD + 180GB SSD
HD 15.6in 1920x1080 LCD (B156HW01 V4)
Intel HD Graphics 3000
2GB Nvidia Quadro 2000M.

Soweit so gut - schon bei der Installation von Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon fiel mir auf, das sich der Bildschirm auf ein Minimum abdunkelte, sobald der Desktop da ist, kann ich die Helligkeit wieder hoch regeln.

Ich habe mittlerweile das BIOS aktualisiert - keine Änderung
Es macht auch keine Unterschied, ob ich im BIOS die dedizierte Grafikkarte (Nvidia) aktiviere oder nur die interne (Intel HD 3000) oder beide (Optimus). Die Nvidia wird anscheinend gar nicht gemocht, recht schnell hängt sich das System auf.

Ich habe im Moment keinen Plan mehr, woran das liegen kann

Ich habe mal die Statistik von TLP angehängt - falls es hilft.


Es ist zwar kein wirklich gravierendes Problem, aber schon nervig. Für jeden Tipp dankbar.

Klingt so, als ob das halt die Einstellung in der Energieverwaltung ist. Macht es denn einen Unterschied, ob das Netzteil angeschlossen ist oder nicht?

Da hat wahrscheinlich der Vorbesitzer über den Energiemanager die dynamische Helligkeitsanpassung aktiviert.
Die regelt die Helligkeit dann auch beim booten runter.Ich kann dir aber leider nicht sagen, wie man die unter Linux entfernt.

Das wäre ja ein Ding, wenn sich das Notebook so etwas auch über eine Neuinstallation mit einem ganz anderen Betriebssystem merkt .

@SammysHP: Nein, es ist egal, ob mit oder ohne Netzteil, ich habe auch schon den 30 Sek. Tipp durchgeführt und im BIOS die Defaultwerte aktiviert, es ist kein Unterschied.

Ich wollte auf einer anderen HD sowieso noch Windows installieren, dann werde ich das mal ausprobieren.

Wenn sich die Helligkeit erst nach dem Booten ändert, hat das EFI ja nichts mehr damit zu tun. Da solltest du schon im System suchen.

edit: Hatte den Nebensatz falsch verstanden. Wenn er schon am Anfang abdunkelt, hat es natürlich nichts mit dem Betriebssystem zu tun. Dann fällt mir allerdings auch nichts weiter ein.

Ist OS unabhängig. Wenn die Funktion aktiv ist, wird bereits ab einschalten abgedimmt. Erst im OS dann auf volle Helligkeit.
Wird wahrscheinlich im EC gespeichert. Daher bringen die Bios defaults wohl auch nichts.

Ich habe jetzt auf einer anderen Festplatte Windows 7 installiert. Nach Installation der Treiber und Programme von Lenovo verdunkelte sich der Bildschirm beim Start immer noch, ich habe dann im Energiemanager zunächst diese Einstellungen zum Abdunkeln aktiviert und anschließend wieder deaktiviert - und siehe da, der Bildschirm dunkelt beim Start nicht mehr ab.
Da wäre ich nie drauf gekommen, dass diese Einstellungen irgendwo in einem Chip gespeichert werden und unabhängig vom Betriebssystem funktionieren.

Jetzt laufen gerade die Updates von Microsoft, wenn die durch sind werde ich das Ganze unter Linux testen.

So, nachdem die Update-Tortur unter Windows erst einmal nicht geklappt hat (Fehler beim Konfigurieren der Windows-Updates), habe ich das erst einmal abgebrochen und wieder die Festplatte mit Linux rein gepackt.
Siehe da, nun gibt es erstaunlicherweise auch keine Probleme mehr mit der Nvidia (im BIOS ist "Optimus" eingestellt). Ich kann kaum glauben, dass das alles mit diesen Energiespareinstellungen zu tun hatte - Hauptsache es funktioniert jetzt wieder.

Ja, das denke ich auch, wenn ich Zeit und Lust habe, werde ich mich nochmal daran setzen (nach dem Alptraum Windows-Updates - ca. 3 Std. letztendlich ohne Erfolg erstmal nicht). Die meisten Dinge kann ich ja auch unter Linux erledigen oder in einer virtuellen Maschine.
