T460s Compatibility USB-C to Slim-tip adapter with Thinkpad T460s

I found this USB-C to Slim-tip adapter and wondered if it was compatible with my T460s. I found it in this compatibility matrix and it says it's not compatible. But I wondered why and what would happen if I tried it anyways. Because my T460s needs 20V at 2,25 A and this Adapter works with 20V 2,25 A, it says I only need to find a powersupply with at least 20V.
Will this work and can it damage my laptop if I try it?

I have already tried the adapter on my daughter's T460s, since I only have USB-C power adapters otherwise. It worked without any problems.

Update: I bought an adapter, cable and usb-c power adapter with PD, and it works perfectly. I even found a power bank with PD with 20 V, that works.
