Bios Update

Ich habe mir vor 2 Wochen ein IBM T41 gekauft.

Nun wollte ich mit der ThinkVantage System Update Software ein BIOS Update aufspielen.

Jedoch lädt er das Paket immer runter, frägt mich dann ob der Akku voll ist, ob das NB am Stromadapter hängt und meint dann, dass das NB neugestartet werden müsste.

Wenn ich all dies mit "Ja" beantworte, startet er das NB neu. Doch anstelle eines BIOS Updates fährt Windows XP einfach ganz normal wieder hoch.

Woran könnte das liegen? Wie kriege ich nun die aktuelle BIOS Version ohne Floppy Laufwerk installiert?

Vielleicht liegt es aber auch an der Rescue and Recovery Software, welche sich ja nach dem Bios reinschiebt?

Irgend welche Ideen ?

PS: Sollte man BIOS und Embedded Controler Updates überhaupt machen solange alles funktioniert?

ibm sagt da folgendes:


BIOS Initialization is suggested for some problems. To initialize the BIOS settings:

1. Turn off the system.
2. Turn on the system.
3. While the To interrupt normal startup, press the blue Access IBM button message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F1 key. The BIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed. If a password prompt appears, type the correct password.
4. Press the F9 key to load default configuration.
5. Select Yes.
6. Press the F10 key to save default configuration and exit.
7. Select Yes.

ahja, tipp 2:
mit ner win98 cd in dos-modus starten und mit einer 2. cd(wo das bios raufgebrannt ist) flashen

Ok danke, und sollte man das immer tun auch wenn das Notebook soweit ohne Probleme läuf?

naja, ist philosophie-sache:
viele sagen: never touch a running system bzw sys-op
ich zb sage: warum nicht, evtl habe ich ja ein feature besser...

Also ich habe das nun versucht mit BIOS Settings zurücksetzen.

Aber ich kann weder ein BIOS Update durchführen, noch den EC updaten :/

Er frägt mich immer diese 4 Sicherheitsfragen ab, startet dann das Thinkpad neu und läd dann aber ganz normal wie beim Einschalten Windows XP.

Hat sonst noch irgend jemand einen Tipp wie ich das aktuelle BIOS und EC Software drauf bekomme?

PS: Win98 CD besitze ich leider nicht :/

Dort steht auch, was ich herausgefunden habe wieso das Update nicht funktioniert. Leider aber noch keine Lösung gefunden.
