Hi,
auf Lenovo Seite werden für mein T61 zwei Treiber für Bluetooth bei Windows XP angeboten.

Installation Instructions

ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software is already
installed on your ThinkPad preload. Uninstall the software from
Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel or by using ThinkPad Software
Installer to enable Microsoft Bluetooth software.

Microsoft Windows XP

Uninstall instructions for ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate
Software

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, then double-click Add or Remove
Programs.
2. Select "ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software" and
click Remove.
3. Click Yes when prompted, "Are you sure you want to remove ThinkPad
Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software from your computer?"
4. The uninstall process will begin.
5. Click OK when prompted to restart your system.


Installation instructions

1. Start Windows XP.
2. Verify that Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed.
3. Turn the Bluetooth power on.
4. If the "Found New Hardware Wizard" window is opened, select
"Install from a list of specific location (Advanced)" and click
Next.
5. Select "Search for the best driver in these locations:", check
"Include this location in the search", and enter the location you
put the Microsoft Bluetooth support file into.
6. Click Next.
7. The driver will be installed automatically.

WHAT THIS PACKAGE DOES

This package installs the software (Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software)
to enable the following devices.

- ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate
- Thinkpad Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate

However, some models do not support Bluetooth 2.1 due to a hardware
restriction.

Refer to marketing materials to find out what computer models support which
devices.

If this package has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing) this
package will fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted
below.

This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED

1. Open My Bluetooth Places.
2. Select Help, then select About My Bluetooth Places.
3. The first line of pop-up window shows the version of the software.
In this release, "My Bluetooth Places 5.5.0.6400"

The driver version of "ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate" in the
device manager is 5.5.0.6500 in this release.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Notes:
- If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update
the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the
Version Information section.
- During the installation, please do not touch the keyboard, the trackpoint and
the mouse.
- Some of the virtual devices are installed when you use the Bluetooth software
for the first time after you install it. Wait for a while until the virtual
devices installation completes.


Manual Install

1. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
2. Press Fn and F5 at the same time to turn on Bluetooth.
3. If 'Found New Hardware Wizard' is displayed, click Cancel.
4. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\TPBTOOTH.
5. Click Start, then click Run...
6. Specify "SETUP.EXE" with the full path name where you extracted the package
in step 4, and click OK.
Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\TPBTOOTH\SETUP.EXE
7. In "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for ThinkPad Bluetooth with
Enhanced Data Rate Software" window, click Next.
8. In the "License Agreement" window, read the Licence Agreement carefully, if
you agree, select "I accept the terms in the licence agreement" then click
Next.
9. In the Destination Folder window, click Next. (If you need to change the
destination, click Change, select or enter the destination folder of your
choice, then click Next.)
10. In the "Ready to Install the Program" window, click Install.
11. When "Driver Signature Notice" window appears, click OK.
Note: During the installation, do not touch the keyboard, the TrackPoint,
and the mouse.
12. When "InstallShield Wizard Completed" appears, click Finish.
13. If you are asked to restart the system, click Yes to restart.


Unattended Install

This is for system administrators' use only.

1. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\TPBTOOTH\.
3. Click Start, then click Run.

Uninstallation will start.
4. Click OK to restart the computer.

Wenn ich den Treiber 1. aus der 77bm03ww.exe verwende wird mir in den Netzwerkverbindungen eine mögliche PAN Bluetooth Netzwerkverbindung angeboten.
Bei Treiber 2. werden mir viele andere mögliche Netzwerkverbindungen angeboten, jedoch keine PAN Bluetooth Netzwerkverbindung. Das obwohl die Treiber Originaldatei um vielfaches größer ist als die von Treiber 1.

Für welchen Einsatzzweck ist Treiber 1. sinnvoll?
Für welchen Einsatzzweck ist Treiber 2. sinnvoll?
Wie kann ich beim neueren Treiber ein PAN Netzwerk aufbauen?

hast Du jetzt evtl. auch die neueren Bluetooth Treiber zu verweden?
[T6*] [gelöst]: Bluetooth-Gerät defekt ?
War dein Problem definitiv nur durch die Verwendung aktueller Treiber entstanden?

der neue treiber sollte auch gehen, nur zickt der irgendwie rum.
bei mir war der erst entgueltig installiert, nachdem ich ihn mehrmals installiert hatte und einige reeboots.
ein com geraeht sollte der auch einrichten oder man kann es uber die treibereigenschafften hinzufuegen.

der treiber ist recht neu, denke der hat einen kleinen fehler irgendwo,

Treibergröße

Hi lyvi,
was mich auch verwundert ist die unterschiedliche Treibergröße von 400 kB bzw. 110 MB.
Der Mehrwert der neuen Treiberlösung muß also gigantisch sein.
Kannst Du mit dem neuen Treiber ein PAN Netz einrichten?
Oder wird beim neuen Treiber eine andere Bezeichnung für ein PAN Netz verwendet?
Eine Vielzahl von weiteren Sybmbolen bzw. Möglichkeiten erhalte ich ja mit dem neuen Treiber. Mit BT habe ich bisher sehr wenig Erfahrung.

Kannst Du mit dem neuen Treiber ein PAN Netz einrichten?
kann ich dir grad nicht sagen sitze am x61s vista meist benutze ich usb kabel.
bin nur ueber das selbe problem gestolbert bei der neuinstallation meiner kiste.
hast du den SP3 da wurde einiges geaendert im bluetooth stack?
Nach der Installation von Windows XP Service Pack 2 werden Bluetooth-Geräte nicht korrekt installiert

anstell Pan bluethooth wird treiber fuer bluethooth lan zugansgserver oder so aehnlich angezeigt.
