T43p: 1GB Ram wird nicht vollständig erkannt

Hallo,

ich habe das Problem, das bei meinem T43p die 1GB Ram nicht vollständig erkannt werden.
0MB HIGHMEM availible
894MB LOWMEM availible

Ich habe die HIGHMEM4G, HIGHMEM64G, sowie den 1GB LOWMEM Patch von Con Colivas probiert. Leider immer das gleiche Ergebnis.
Kernel ist der 2.6.14.5, tritt aber mit Knoppix 4 genauso auf.

Hat jemand eine Idee an welcher Schraube man noch drehen kann?

hast du schonmal versucht das Modul rauszunehmen und wieder einzusetzen? Möglicherweise sitzt es nicht richtig. Besteht das Problem auch unter Windows(sofern vorhanden)?

Uneter Windows funktionierts einwandfrei.
Das BIOS zeigts auch richtig an und es ist auch nur 1 1GB Riegel.

du könntest mal den Erweiterten Speichertest und Diagnostic Boot im BIOS einschalten. Punkt 1 findet sich unter Config - Memory und 2 unter Startup. Soweit ich das in Erinnerung habe ist Linux immer etwas kleinlicher bei potentiellen RAM-Problemen als Windows.

Das BIOS testet beim Memory Test auch nur 894MB.
Im BIOS heißt es aber 1024MB installed.

Windows sagt, es nutzt PAE für das RAM.
Soweit ich weiss, ist die HIGHMEM Option doch PAE, oder irre ich mich da?

da ist was faul. bei mir zählt er alle 1,5 GB hoch. (wobei, das auch an den Chipsätzen liegen könnte, meins ist ein T42. aber eigentlich müsste das BIOS doch alles durchzählen.)

Könnte sein. Ich finde überhaupt keine Informationen dazu.
Habe auch append="mem=1024M" und HIGHMEM64G gesetzt. Es will immer noch nicht.
Ich glaube ich kann erstmal nur damit leben und hoffen, dass ein Bios-Update, Kernel Update, oder irgendwas Anderes irgendwann mal hilft.

Bin jedoch weiterhin für jeden Tipp dankbar.

Du musst den HIGH MEMORY Support im Kernel aktivieren.
Kernel neu kompilieren und neu starten, hat bei mir danach wunderbar funktioniert.

Der High Memory Support ist ja auch drin. (Stand auch schon ganz oben).
Interessanterweise erkennt Windows jetzt auch nur noch 896MB.
Habe einen Call bei Lenovo geöffnet. Bin mal gespannt was die dazu sagen.
