Hey,

Wichtiger Hinweis:
"Pre-Sandy Bridge models (T410/X201 and older) are limited to PCI-E 1.1, which is roughly 250MB/s."

Also kein SATA3 in meinem R400 - damit leider völlig uninteressant für mich.

Jedes fertige Mod-Paket wiegt wahrscheinlich ungefähr 5 oz.

Hi there! I will be using Google Translate to hopefully make my replies readable.
If you would like to set up a group buy (bulk order), I just figured I'd let you know the prices to ship to Germany:
https://www.pirateship.com/usps/first-class-package-international
Each completed mod package will likely weigh around 5 oz. This means:

  • I can ship 1 mod to Germany for $14 USD
  • I can ship up to 6 mods for $24 USD
  • I can ship up to 9 mods for $37 USD
  • I can ship up to 12 mods for $59 USD
If you would like to organize more than 12 mods, the shipping will be around the $65 USD, only marginally increasing with more mods. This will be much easier to determine once I have the first production orders built. I will also provide a 15% per-mod discount for orders with 5 or more mods.
I also wanted to thank you all. I had been watching from the day I launched to see if anyone would post about it on thinkpad-forum.de because I know how big of a community you are. I never expected Germany to tie the US in overall support! You guys are really amazing. Thank you so much.

Are you the manufacturer of this mod?

I was about to buy the pack of 3 perk for a friend and me, but it's no longer available. But if we can set up a group order, that works as well. What would be the price per mod, and would we need to order through Indiegogo? Over there, there's only 10 mods left.

Yes, I am, and can verify that anyway you'd like me to (my email is support_at_thinkmods.store if that helps).
I was restructuring the page a little bit, because I want to keep the first production run at 250 units. I'm worried that if I try to take on a bigger load than that, I'll run into issues and orders will just perpetually ship later and later.

Because of this, I've temporarily disabled the 2-pack and 3-pack perks, and have increased the maximum number of 1-pack perks left. This is to ensure everyone who wants to order them gets the chance.

I am still willing to take a thinkpad-forum.de group buy in the first production run, though! If you would like to do that, my prices are listed in the above post. I'm happy to answer any other questions you have too.

Awesome, thanks! I think we should get that set up here.

I think in your post you only listed the shipping prices depending on the number of units that we order, but what would be the actual cost per adapter? US$35 like in the Indiegogo, minus the 15% discount if we order 5 or more?

Whoops, double post.

Yes, it would be $35 prior to the 15% discount. I am also looking into having someone distribute for me in Germany, but until then, a group buy is probably the best option.

I'd be interested in obtaining two adapters via a group order, but if it's limited to a single adapter per person, I'd settle for that of course.

@yttrium:
Just for technical clarification:
If I got that correctly, the adapter:
1. forwards the Expresscard's PCIe lanes to the NVMe SSD, and
2. includes some small flash memory connected to the Expresscard's USB 2.0 controller, whose only purpose is, to boot the installed SSD.

Suppose the USB flash in the adapter fails for whatever reason, would the SSD in the adapter still be usable (although not bootable of course)?

That sounds good! I've also seen your update on Reddit, actually I'll buy a HyperBay mini and a Unifying mod from you as soon as they become available :D
Actually ExpressCard SATA would even be better for me since there are more drives available, but also want to support you getting everything going

So let's collect some orders here!
