Fingerprint Sensor unter Ubuntu

Hallo Foristas,
ich hoffe ich bin hier richtig. Ich habe aktuell Ubuntu 19.04 installiert, es läuft auf meinem T490s i5 16gb echt fluffig. Eine Baustelle ist mir aufgefallen, ich bekomme den Fingerprint-Sensor nicht zu laufen.

Ich habe https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Fingerprint-GUI/ abgearbeitet. Starte ich fingerprint-gui erhalte ich eine Fehlermeldung, die aber nicht so relevant scheint:

In der gui wird dann aber "No Devices found" angezeigt und man kann keine Finger fingern. Ist das richtig und ich verstehe den tieferen Sinn dahinter nicht oder ist das ein tieferliegendes Problem?

willkommen im "Biotop" :D.

Ich denke, es wäre es hilfreich gewesen, auch deine Anfrage bei ubuntuusers.de zu verlinken.

Wie dort erwähnt, gibt es derzeit keinen Treiber. Ob und wann – und für welche Modelle – Lenovo seine verlinkte Ankündigung wahr macht, wird dir hier keiner sagen können. In der Liste von libfprint ist bisher kein einziges Fingerprint-Modell von Synaptics.

Ich fürchte, Du musst das Thema Fingerprint einfach abhaken. Betroffen sind alle neueren ThinkPads.

ps. dein Post wäre in unserem Linux-Unterforum besser aufgehoben.

Danke, es war klar dass ich nicht gleich richtig liegen konnte mit dem Thread, und...

... schade dass das Lenovo nicht hinbekommt, und ich hatte mir einen Thinkpad ausgesucht da ich davon ausging, dass Lenovo Linux unterstützt.
