bisher gibt es noch kein Bios mit CPU Support für die Ivy, es müsste erst eines mit den Ivy CPUs erweitert werden.

Wobei es mich mehr interessieren würde, ob es je ein Mod-Bios für T520/W520 geben wird, aufgrund der Entwicklungen hier.

dann könnte ich trotz dem schweren Netzteilklopper noch schwach werden (das W510 läuft mit dem 90W Reisenetzteil grad so zufriedenstellend), zusätzlich zur mSATA und Optimus unterstützung, bis dahin bleibe ich beim W510

interpretiere ich das hier jetzt richtig, dass die TDP nach 45 Sekunden auf 36W begrenzt wird? Ja, nach 45 Sekunden geht auch ohne aktives Throttlestop die TDP auf 35W zurück und die CPU bleibt bei ca. 80°C
Was wären die idealen Einstellungen für einen 2630qm bzw. was habt ihr eingestellt?

Long power limit: 0 or I would use 35 watt (why 36??????????)
Long power limit time = 28
I have an i5 2520m
Will upgrade to i7 2640m but I will not change settings because they are both 35 watt cpus.

I cannot access the D3D score win windows 8.1 since WinSAT refuses to run D3D -dx10. Microsoft Winsat or intel driver bug??? I wonder.
Current passmark performance test rating: 1770 Test Ballistix 1866 :1842 We have only 4% total increase in performance. 2D & 3D Graphics card performance did not increase. however d3d direct compute failed to run under windows 8.1. latest intel HD 3000 driver is not working properly with windows 8.1. maybe windows 8.0 would give better results in 3d graphics with faster memory. hope that Intel gets this driver problem sorted.

I have a problem with ballistix 10-10-10-30 1866Mhz T2 command rate memory modules. It runs on Lenovo T420 with 11-11-11-32 command Rate T1 timings (CPU-Z memory).

Under cpu-z the 2x4gb Crucial Ballistix 1866mhz 10-10-10-30 is recognized with 11-11-11-32 timings (1866Mhz). Can you please help to correct this wrong timing for the Ballistix memory modules???? For a reason it uses 1T instead of 2T command rate????
Is it possible to add the Command Rate (T1 or T2) option in the modified bios in the memory options in order for me to choose T2????
Nmode memory bios setting N1 N2, if it is the same as T1 T2 command rates, does not change when I select N2, checking with cpu-z to verify fails to select T2.
I think the options should be corrected to the following in order to work:
OneN Mode Support
Enable/Disable OneN Mode Support
Disabled
Enabled
I think this is the reason the cpu-z is showing me memory timing: 11-11-11-32 command rate T1 whereas the spd timing: is 10-10-10-30 command rate: T2
~The SPD ext is XMP 1.3

Answer. Tested bios firmware 1.37 (same as 1.46 bios options):
There is no advanced setting in bios 1.37 to modify command rate. It still displays T1 in the cpu-z with same timings 11-11-11-32.

The command rate is not working as I have checked with 1600Mhz memory clock and 2N. Still displays T1. There is a bug with the bios memory Nmode.
These should be the correct settings:

Nö, der stößt nirgendwo an... gibt nur einen structure frame. Dass der Nvidia-Kühler bei Intelgraka kühler ist als der Intel glaub ich nicht. Hab auch nix bemerkt. Die CPU Heatpipe ist bei beiden Varianten identisch dick. Es gibt aber 2 Sorten Kühler, je 2 für Intel und 2 für nvidia.

Nein, es gibt noch nichts. Die Experten tüfteln noch an einer Lösung. Lediglich mit Coreboot wurde es schon zum Laufen gebracht, technisch scheints also machbar zu sein.
Die Frage bleibt: wie leicht lässt sich der Ivy Bridge Support in das normale BIOS verpflanzen, das läuft noch nicht.

Bis jetzt noch nicht. Ich habe zwar einen Eepromer und würde ja mal bisschen rumprobieren, aber mir fehlt der Zweitrechner bzw. zu meinem T420 Mainboard eine CPU, Powerstrippe und Nvidia-Kühler zum Testen.

Diablo, Habe jeweils einen Sandybridge und einen Ivybridge i5 daheim rumliegen. Könnte dir diese zum Testen leihweise schicken. Habe auch von diversen Laptöppen Kühler mit Lüfter da, aber von keinem T420. Vielleicht kriegt man da aber was passendes zusammen... Bei Interesse PN.
