Ein T400 mit gentoo und GUI und ein R61i ohne GUI: Wenn beim T400 eine SD-Card plaziert wird, gibt's plötzlich /dev/mmcblk0 und mmcblk0p* entsprechend der Partition der SD-Card. Beim R61i erscheint nichts. Wie kann man auf die SD-Card zugreifen ? Zu Fuss mit mknod wäre nicht so ideal...

Gib mal die letzten 30-50 Zeilen vom dmesg wenn du ne Karte in das nicht funktionierende Gerät steckst.

Zudem ein uname -a und ein lsmod (beider Kisten) Kann sein das auf dem R61 zb ein Modul wie usb-storage nicht geladen ist.

Die Ricoh-Dinger sind extremst zickig -.- Im T400/T61 gingen sie damals, und dann nich, und dann wieder, je nach Laune und Kernel-Version.

Der CardReader im R61i funktionierte mal. Möglicherweise ging die Funktionalität durch ein Kernel-Update verloren, wie von Dir oben beschrieben.

Ich denke es ist die gleiche Karte die auch im T400 geht? Hast du ggf. ne alternative Karte? VIelleicht kommt der gerade nur mit SDHC nicht klar, aber SD würde gehen.

Meine Vermutung:

Der Reader ist einfach kaputt gegangen
Das Kernelmodul fucked rum
Irgendwas was anderes im Kernel fucked rum.

Mein erster Anlauf:

Kernel up / downgrade, ggf. mal ne SD-Card reinschieben.
 
Andere Karte habe ich schon probiert... Satz mit 'x'... Kernel-Up/Downgrade is auch nicht: Fan Error :cursing: Muss warten, bis die Ersatzteile eintreffen.

Mit der Vermutung hinsichtlich Kartengrösse lagst Du gar nicht mal so falsch:

Alle SDHC:

[x] Transcend 8GB
[ ] Transcend 16GB
[ ] Samsung 32GB

x=wird erkannt. Die 16GB geht natürlich im T400 trotz identischer Revisionen :facepalm: Die 8GB ist FAT...

Am Filesystem würd ich das, erstmal, nicht ausmachen.

Nen Device unter /dev sollte er dir ja so oder so anlegen.

Ah okay ..

Naja ich hab hier im Job gelernt: Auch bei der gleichen Revision kann was anders sein ;) Hatten Testgeräte hier, die schon im "freien Markt" verfügbar waren .. gleiche Revision, aber anderes
Boardlayout, andere Chips etc pp.

Kannst ja bescheid geben wenn deine Ersatzteile da sind.

Wie ist es ausgegangen? Habe gerade ähnliches Problem mit drei microSDHC-Karten (8 GB, 16 GB) und einer microSD-Karte (1 GB), wenn auch meine alte SD-Karte (128 MB) fehlerfrei funktioniert.

Das scheint exakt der Punkt zu sein: Diese toys-R-us-Reader funktionieren nur für kleine bis sehr kleine SD-Karten. Falls Du also größere Karten nutzen willst, nimm einen Adapter.
 
Hatte iń meinem ersten Beitrag, wie in Deinem Zitat zu sehen noch "zwei" Karten zu stehen, obwohl ich während des Schreibens, bereits die Dritte nicht funktionierende Karte probiert hatte (und den Satz dementsprechend in der Aufzählung erweitert hatte). Ich entschuldige mich für diesen semantischen Fehler. Dennoch:

Selbst wenn der Kartenleser nur SD 1.0 kennt, sollte er die microSD (1 GB) Karte erkennen können, was er jedoch nicht tut. Selbst bei Dir ging es doch mit SDHC und 8 GB.

Bis auf das aufgezählte, habe ich leider nichts weiter zum testen, jedoch ist der bisherige Eindruck, daß es am SD-zu-MicroSD-Adapter liegt.
 
Also Wasp, da ja Weihnachten ist habe ich dir zuliebe nochmal mit dem T400 getestet:

16GB Transcend und 32GB Samsung sind lesbar. Auf dem T400 ist Fedora Server 25, kernel 4.8.14
