Macrium Software bietet das kostenlose Programm Macrium Reflect zur Klonung von kompletten Festplatten und zur Erstellung von Abbildern in der Version 5.2.6399 an. Des Weiteren wird GPT unterstützt. Mittels Macrium Reflect kann ein Notfalldatenträger erstellt werden, welcher in der Lage ist, bei Bedarf die Abbilder zurück zuspielen.

  • Western Digital drive
  • CD-RW/DVD-RW drive for bootable media creation
  • Mouse or other pointing device (recommended)

Acronis True Image WD Edition rescue media has the following hardware requirements:
  • 512 MB RAM
  • Processor Pentium 1 GHz or faster
The recommended screen resolution is 1280 x 1024.
The minimum screen resolution is 1024 x 768.

Supported operating systems:
Acronis True Image WD Edition has been tested on the following operating systems:
  • Windows XP SP3
  • Windows XP Professional x64 Edition SP2
  • Windows Vista SP2 (all editions)

Sandboxie, eine Sandbox für Windows, liegt in der Version 4.06 zum Download bereit respektive kann über die integrierte Updatefunktion aktualisiert werden.

Kaspersky Lab USA stellt offiziell Windows 8.1-kompatible KAV/KIS 2014-Versionen bereit. Das Release mit dem deutschsprachigen GUI erscheint in rund einer Woche. Möglicherweise wird der Aktivierungsschlüssel nicht erkannt. Hängt davon ab, wo dieser gekauft wurde. Sollte dieser nicht angenommen werden, lässt sich KAV/KIS 2014 vorübergehend als Testversion aktivieren. Bei Erscheinung des deutschsprachigen Release wird der Schlüssel dann erkannt.
