T420 braucht sehr viel Strom und Lüfter läuft dauernd

Hi Leute,

ist es normal, dass ein ThinkPad T420 mit ca 26 bis 30 Watt Leistung am Akku zieht?
Ich hab zwar schon TLP installier und eingerichtet, aber viel hat sich nicht geändert, außer das ein shutdown von Zeit zu Zeit als restart behandelt wird.
Außerdem tourt der Lüfter dauernd. Es ist selten, dass er mal weniger als 2600 Umdrehungen hat.
Ich nutze Linux mint 12 und hab auch schon Thinkfan eingerichtet, aber eine Verbesserung kann ich nicht feststellen.

Ich würde hier mal meine Einstellungen posten, da bestimmt dort der Hund begraben liegt.
Vielleicht kann mir ja jemand von euch sagen, was ich falsche gemacht habe.

Danke für den Tipp und den Link, aber das hatte ich schon vorher eingestellt, hab es aber vergessen oben zu erwähnen.
Ttrotzdem noch mal grub-update laufen lassen, aber keinerlei Verbesserungen.

Aufwendige Anwendungen habe ich eigentlich keine am laufen.
Die laufenden Prozesse, die ich mir mit conky anzeigen lasse, haben meist nur eine sehr geringe CPU-Belastung ( unter einem Prozent ).
Außer ich arbeite mit Eclipse und co, aber da ist es ja klar, dass die Java Anwendungen entsprechend Leitung benötigen.

Selbst wenn ich nur mal eben was googeln will und kurz den Browser offen hab, braucht er ziemlich viel Strom. :(

LENOVO ThinkPad T420 4180PH3
ist ein Modell mit Optimus-Hybridgrafik, d.h. die "Höchststrafe" unter Linux. Du mußt im BIOS eine der beiden Karten auswählen:
  • "integrated" = Intel -> meine Empfehlung
  • "discrete" = Nvidia -> unter "Zusätzliche Treiber" den proprietären Herstellertreiber aktivieren
Zeig für alle Fälle bitte noch die kpl. Ausgabe von

Ja, hab ich und ich hab einen NVIDIA Quadro® NVS 4200M Chip.

Unter zusätzliche Treiber wird der NVIDIA Chip gar nicht erkannt. Wenn ich den Treiber vom Hersteller runter lade und installiere bekomme ich aber massiv Probleme.
Mein ThinkṔad fährt dann nicht mehr richtig hoch. Es bleibt beim booten an Plymouth hängen.
Somit kann ich nur noch die Einstellung im BIOS auf "integrated" ändern.
Dann funktioniert wieder alles.
