Okay here it comes:
Room/water temperature: 27 degrees celcius (measured by thermometer)
It's impossible for me to recreate the 20-25 degree celcius environment now, summer's here

That will not happen if I make use of the Siphon Phenomenon (i.e. putting two bottles below the laptop level, one higher than another)
And if I raise the intake pipe above water level, the water will soon be drained out (in 20s) and I can pull out the rubber tube safely
The main purpose of my watercooling mod is to "improve" the temperature while keep the mobility of thinkpad :). Sorry for your confusions but more precisely my mod should be called hybrid cooling:cool:
If you look closely into my photoes at #143, you will see that I made barely any structural...
I'm quite sure it's neither, the RAM has been working fine with my T9900 for almost a year and I used nail top to improve the insulation. Only possible cause are the bad soldering and insulation
I didn't pushed the other two cores to maximum mainly to keep conditions/variables the same as in my...
I've tried with watercooling and it performed better than I expected
the best rubber tube is 1.6mm I.D. and 0.8mm wall, 2mm I.D. with 1mm wall also fits, but isn't as good as 1.6mm and 0.8
1. Room temperature & water temperature @ about 25 degree Celcius
2. keyboard closed
3. fan controlled by...
I've read about a post where some one put a medical rubber tube inside his laptop and reduce the temperature by about 4 degrees celcius
It'd be much better with a copper tube.
I was indeed, thinking of making a water block on the cpu, but since I'm not in China I don't have the facilities or...
Watercooling idea:
I got copper pipes/tubes of inner diameter 1.3mm and outer diameter 2.3mm (the thickness of T61's heatpipe is 2.4mm) from ebay
below are the installation photos
The problem now is that I can't find a rubber tube of inner diameter 1.8-2.0mm and outer diameter less than...

Would such files from a Samsung R710 help? It's quite hard to find a Core 2 Quad laptop and finding a W700 is even harder. And it's barely possible to find a W700 owner with all Q9000, Q9100 and QX9300. I hope such files from Samsung R710 would help cos this friend of mine has Q9000 in...

highsun has made two modified versions which hopefully should work
He has also extracted the APIC table from W700

according to one of the tester the graphics card did not undervolt as it should according to gpu-z. And the other 3 or 4 claimed that the temperature was reduced by about 3-4 degrees, which could just be placebo effect. I'll test it myself later when my exams finish
@el-sahef
If you have the facilities, you can also try to change the original GDDR3 VRAM to H5RS1H23MFR-11C, which will double the VRAM size and give a much better performance under high resolutions. I reckon this works straight without any further modifications. Unfortunately I could not find...
Hello everyone
highsun @51nb has made a modified BIOS which contains almost all Core 2 Duo and Quad CPUs' microcode. He had also integrated the modified APIC table into the BIOS

However this BIOS is entirely untested.

Hallo
I've replied to you on thinkpad forum
Sorry that I've made some mistakes
I don't think there's anything to do with R556,
Here's what I meant and I think it will work, if the GPU can cope with the clock speed. Cos I've pulled up and pulled down the R1025 and it takes T9900...
