Hallo,

ich habe auf meinem T400s folgendes Problem mit dem UMTS-Modem in der Manjaro-Installation:

Das Modem wird hardwareseitig korrekt erkannt und ist aktiv:

Das Modem lässt sich jedoch nicht im Networkmanager ansprechen bzw. es lassen sich dort keine Verbindungen damit einrichten. Grundsätzlich funktionierte es, als ich Manjaro in Version 0.8.5 installierte, korrekt. Nach welchen Updates dies dann nicht mehr der Fall war, kann ich jetzt nicht mehr feststellen, da ich UMTS eher selten nutze. Einen positiven Gegentest konnte ich mit einer Live-CD von PartedMagic machen. Dort war "Mobile Broadband" im Network-Manager verfügbar.

Nach meinen Recherchen scheint der ModemManager wohl das Problem zu sein:

Die Artikel, die ich zu der Meldung fand, waren jedoch meist uralt und/oder brachten keine Lösung. Eine Neuinstalltion der Pakte brachte auch keine Änderung.

USB-Autosuspend zu deaktivieren brachte keine Änderung.
 
Hast Du den ModemManager denn auch gestartet (also den Dienst)? Auf meinem T420 kommt bei

die gleiche Ausgabe wie bei Dir, aber es funktioniert alles bestens.

Der Modemmanager wird vom Network Manager automatisch gestartet. Wenn er wie oben gezeigt abraucht, würde ich mal eine andere/ältere Version davon probieren, dito von NetworkManager und Kernel. Wobei die F3507g ja seit Jahren mit nahezu jedem Linux ootb läuft.


Weiterhin ist auf dem Notebook tlp aktiv

Für diese Uraltversion von TLP gebe ich eh keinen Support mehr :eek:. Du solltest dein System mal gründlich updaten. Vielleicht ist dann auch das obige Problem weg ...
 
Danke für eure Antworten, ich konnte das Problem inzwischen endlich lösen. TLP ist jetzt auf Version 0.4-2, was aktuell sein sollte, jedoch nicht die Ursache war. Trotzdem danke für den Hinweis.

Ich hätte von Anfang an die Systemlogs genauer lesen sollen:

Wie es aussieht lag die Datei "org.freedesktop.ModemManager1.service" im falschen Verzeichnis bzw. in das falsche Verzeichnis installiert. Keine Ahnung warum oder ob das ein Bug unter Manjaro oder generell unter Arch ist. Die Datei scheint wohl eine Art Konfigurationsdatei für dbus zu sein, wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe.

Ehrlich gesagt war die Lösung dann einfach nur ein raten meinerseits, da ich bei meiner weiteren Sucherei nichts fand, wo die Datei denn hingehören sollte , aber ein

Vielleicht sollte ich mal im Manjaro-Forum fragen, ob das ein genereller Bug ist, denn ich hatte die Datei definitiv nicht verschoben und spätestens nach der Neuinstallation des ModemManagers hätte sie im richtigen Verzeichnis landen müssen.

Nachdem Du's schon so weitgehend analysiert hast, solltest Du einen Bug Report gegen das Arch-Package stellen.
 
Das ist wohl ein generelles Problem bei manjaro, sowohl in Xfce-, openbox- und e17-Version

Salut!

Ich habe das gleiche Problem unter Ubuntu Trusty Tahr mit meinem TP Edge 13. Habe die Anleitung hier im Wiki befolgt, gobi-loader-tp installiert. Nach nmci dev wird kein GSM device angezeigt und der ModemManager (Version 1.0) stürzt mit dieser Fehlermeldung ab:
Could not acquire the 'org.freedesktop.ModemManager1' service name
ModemManager[1227]: <info> [1380369642.257765] [main.c:179] main(): ModemManager is shut down


Leider hat der obige Vorschlag (Verschieben der "org.freedesktop.ModemManager1.service") nicht zu einer Lösung geführt.
Hat Jemand eine Idee?
